Take the Next Step

I provide coaching and consultancy for those in leadership positions in businesses, churches and charities.

Investing in you to enhance your presence, courage and maturity in leadership is my primary focus. The insight, skills and strategies you will gain through coaching will also result in the development of sustainable well-being practices and positively impact your organisational culture.

My coaching approach has a strong theoretical and empirically researched base, particularly drawing on the Bowen systems coaching model. Bowen coaching is distinct because it explores the often unacknowledged emotional and relational dimensions of leadership. This not only provides significant insight into the dynamics you bring into your role but also unpacks the below-the-surface systemic interactions that influence the functioning and performance of groups and organizations. Increasing awareness of both self and system offers the opportunity to explore and identify what factors may be contributing to current challenges or inhibiting growth, change and creativity.

This self-in-system coaching approach proactively focuses on maturing your personal differentiation. This process will:

  • Mature your relational connections enabling you to stay open and connected when under pressure

  • Strengthen your capacity to define your position and values even when faced with multiple viewpoints

  • Enhance your ability to reflect on your personal reactions to pressure and develop a more thoughtfully responsive approach.

Ongoing Research

My ongoing research focuses on the impact of this coaching approach on individual and organisational health, well-being and productivity.

This research stems from my doctoral thesis which investigated the relevance and impact of Bowen group coaching for church leaders. All participants felt that Bowen coaching was valuable. 78% participants identified that Bowen coaching was extremely beneficial or helpful to them personally and 83% participants felt that the learning was relevant or extremely relevant to their working life.

Coaching participants reported improved conflict resolution skills and an enhanced ability to understand and respond to anxiety (both personal and group anxiety). Participants noticed that the organisational blame culture reduced and they found increased courage to take difficult decisions. The coaching course also improved work-life balance, with one participant reporting that it “saved” them from burnout.

The strength of the one-to-one coaching approach I currently offer is that we can target our coaching sessions much more specifically to your areas of need and work at your pace.
